He gained his doctorate at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (London University) and taught at the University of Aberdeen for 8 years before moving to Bradford in 1979. bPatrick Salmon/b has been a Lecturer in History at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne since 1981 after gaining his doctorate at the University of Cambridge.
