Sisukord:Käesolevas autobiograafilises mälestusteraamatus jätkab autor oma pagulaspõlve meenutamist. Siin meenutatakse sõjajärgseid aastaid Saksamaal ning õpinguid Hamburgis, töötamist Rootsis ning emigreerumist USA-sse. Raamat on järjeks varem ilmunud mälestusteraamatule «Capful of Wind», mis käsitles Eesti okupeerimist ja Teise maailmasõja sündmusi. «The Wind at My Back» continues the true, autobiographical tale told in «Capful of Wind»: in that first volume, a young man of eighteen, barely out of boyhood, witnesses the brutal Soviet occupation of his Baltic home country Estonia. «The Wind at My Back» picks up with the postwar years in devasted Germany and the author's studies in Hamburg, the City of Ruins. He finds himself in Sweden, where he works as a farm hand for the Swedish royal family, and finally emigrates to the US. He is accepted as a medical student in California, against all odds, and this second volume continues with his graduation, internship and residency in New York and Kansas City. This story of personal triumph ends with his peaceful and productive decades as a practing physician in Sheboygan, Wisconsin – a small, picturesque town on Lake Michigan that reminds him of his homeland without its bitter memories of war.
