The Family as the Tradition Carrier I-II
Kaheosalisse kogumikku on koondatud perekonnatraditsioone käsitleva kongressi materjalid. This Nordic-Baltic-Finno-Ugric conference discussing family traditions was held on May 25-29, 1994, in Võsu, Estonia. The first volume of the conference proceedings includes one half of the papers presented to print, discussing different generations and family traditions, family collections in archives, homecures, proverbs and sayings, singing and music-making. The second volume of the conference proceedings comprises thirty articles, rendering Udmurt, Komi, Mari, Khanty, Mansi, Nenets, Nganasan, Finnish-Karelian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian and Welsh family traditions – studies of folk songs, analysing both the text and the melody; studies of folk tales, literature, genealogy, in-family communications; folk pedagogics; family rites, magic and mythology connected with them and their transmission; hereditary transmission of shamanism, and of music.
